PRODUCTION WORKERS

Reports To: Plant Manager Shift: Monday to Thursday from 2:30pm to 1:00am The Foreperson is responsible to ensure that manufacturing activities on the nightshift are of exceedingly high quality and are conducted safely, efficiently, and enjoyably. This individual will properly allocate staff to meet sales forecasts and produce on schedule while working closely with the Plant Manager and other departments on improvement projects. Responsibilities:- Monitor, manage, and coordinate the activities of the Team Leaders, Teams, and Processes to achieve the planned results for an overall production line or lines.
- Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other departments.
- Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve safety, productivity, product quality, and on time delivery.
- Requisition materials and supplies.
- Promote positive employee relations through open communication.
- Report weekly on performance results.
- Develop the safety culture within the team.
- Set high standards and high expectations when it comes to following safety protocols.
- Improve the JOHSC walkthrough in their department to achieve and exceed compliance.
- Actively seek to identify and correct potential hazards or unsafe conditions BEFORE accidents happen.
- Encourage open dialogue with all team members when it comes to safe practices and ideas.
- Work with the safety coordinator and quality team to ensure all OIs include accurate descriptions of safe processes and correct PPE for each task in their department.
- Train staff in job duties, safety procedures and company policies.
- Accountable for meeting or exceeding the quality expectations of Kohltech’s customers.
- Accountable to achieve the target score for the department on the weekly QI inspection.
- Work with the quality team to ensure all OIs are accurate and detailed enough to be used as training documents.
- Continually look for opportunities to improve consistency in the process, e.g. standardization, use of jigs etc.
- Hold the team accountable to production targets.
- Accurately record reasons for downtime at the bottlenecks and fixing or correcting the root causes.
- Challenge the Team Leaders to find efficiencies within the steps of their individual tasks.
- Work with the managers and industrial engineers to streamline processes.
- Remove obstacles and barriers for your team, provide them with the tools, materials, and space they need to be successful.
- Plan and implement changes to machinery and equipment, production systems and methods of work.
- Accurately track rework so resources are applied to fixing the right things.
- Look for ways to decrease rework through process improvements.
- Evaluate the performance of all employees.
- Ensure trainees are paired with the right trainer.
- Carefully and thoroughly explain all safety, quality, and efficiency expectations of each task.
- Consider training from the perspective of the employees who are new to the task.
- Ensure cross training within the department covers all positions with no gaps.
- Identify those employees who have potential for further training or responsibilities.
- Mentor those who want to learn more.

Junior Draftsperson
Reports To: Manager of Research and Development The Junior Draftsperson position is an entry level position best suited to a recent graduate. About the Role: The Junior Draftsperson works closely with other members of the Product Development Team, and with Sales and Marketing and Operations to design, develop, and maintain our products in a way that maximizes utility and performance while meeting or exceeding regulatory requirements and considering ease of manufacturing. The Draftsperson will be responsible for preparing drawings and specifications, maintaining certifications, and participating in certain other activities related to the development and introduction of new product options, new products, and new equipment. Job duties include some or all of the following duties:- Develop and prepare engineering designs and drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets and other data.
- Create building information models (BIM), using computer software, to provide digital representations of physical and functional aspects of buildings and other engineering projects.
- Operate computer-assisted design (CAD) and drafting workstations.
- Develop and prepare design sketches.
- Complete documentation packages and produce drawing sets.
- Check and verify design drawings to conform to specifications and design data.
- Write technical reports.
- Technical Graduate or CET familiar with Autocad.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment will be considered an asset.
- Technical aptitude and ability to think logically.
- Demonstrated computer skills and aptitude are required.
