PRODUCTION WORKERS

Maintenance Manager
Reports to: Plant Manager Position Summary: We are seeking a proactive and experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee and coordinate all maintenance activities within our window and door manufacturing facility located in Debert, NS. This role ensures optimal operation of all machinery, equipment, and systems while implementing preventative maintenance plans and responding promptly to any technical breakdowns. The Maintenance Manager will lead a team of technicians and collaborate with production to maintain safety, quality, and efficiency. This role will also be responsible for facility infrastructure and building maintenance. Key Responsibilities:- Lead safety initiatives related to machine guarding, lockout/tagout procedures, and Occupational Health and Safety compliance.
- Supervise, train, and schedule maintenance staff, ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational procedures.
- Develop and implement a preventative and predictive maintenance program for all production equipment, including cutting machines, welders, CNC machines, and glazing equipment.
- Manage contractors on site for larger maintenance projects, such as HVAC specialists, cranes and hoists, forklifts, electrical upgrades, or sprinkler system tests, etc.
- Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns, diagnose problems, and coordinate necessary repairs or replacements to minimize downtime.
- Maintain the condition of the production facility, grounds and security system.
- Maintain inventory of spare parts, tools, and maintenance supplies, working with procurement to reorder as needed.
- Ensure all factory utilities (HVAC, air compressors, and electrical systems, etc.) operate efficiently and meet regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to support process improvements and equipment upgrades.
- Manage maintenance budget and control costs related to labor, parts, and equipment.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in industrial or manufacturing maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Experience with automated production equipment and PLCs is a plus.
- Leadership or supervisory experience with maintenance teams.
- Familiarity with CMMS and maintenance tracking tools.
- Excellent troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills.
- Relevant technical certification or degree (Mechanical/Electrical or related field preferred).
- Familiarity with regulatory standards such as OH&S.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
- Project management experience for equipment installation or factory upgrades.
- Experience with window or building product manufacturing would be an asset.
- Factory floor and maintenance shop environments.
- Requires occasional lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces or at heights.
- On-call availability for urgent maintenance issues.
Production Worker – Summer Student
Reports to: Production Manager/Production Foreperson Kohltech is hiring students to fill a number of manufacturing positions this summer in various production departments such as:- Paint
- Shipping
- Doors
- Casement Window Line
- Slider Window Line
- Receiving
- Patio Doors
- Completion of Grade 12 preferred or entering a post-secondary education program in the fall of 2026.
- Minimum age: 16 to work in manufacturing as per Nova Scotia Labour Standards.
- Can commit to working Monday to Friday until August 31st , 2026.
- Excellent attendance and punctuality record.
- Previous experience using hand tools and reading a measuring tape would be an asset.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
- Will need own CSA steel toe boots or sneakers.
- A consistent schedule of 6am to 2:30pm, Monday to Friday.
- Some evening shifts available – Monday to Thursday from 2:30pm – 1:00am.
- Weekly pay.
- Starting rate of $18.60/hour.
