Conserving energy is a priority for you, and it is for us as well. We provide a wide variety of glass options that act to increase a home’s energy efficiency.
Energlas Plus
Energlas Plus is technology at its best. It is an ultra high performance energy efficient triple glazed system using a warm edge spacer, two panes of LoE glass, and the two cavities are filled with high density gas.
On our casement system we are able to take advantage of our deep sash to offer a 1 3/8” deep insulated glass unit that gives two full ½” argon filled spaces – the cavity depth that maximizes efficiency by best balancing losses due to convection and conduction.
On slider systems we are limited to a 7/8” deep insulated glass unit, so in addition to the more economical argon gas fill we also offer a krypton fill. Krypton performs exceptionally well in smaller cavities.
Energlas
Energlas is our most popular glazing option, and dramatically reduces heat loss. It provides a double glazed insulated glass unit with our stainless warm edge spacer system, LoE glass, and an argon gas fill. The LoE is placed on surface #3 to promote solar gain.
Both Energlas and Energlas Plus improve resistance to interior condensation and significantly reduce the infiltration of harmful UV rays. The LoE used in these products is a recent development from PPG that for the first time provides the lower conductivity found in soft coat LoE’s with the high solar gain properties of a hard coat LoE resulting in industry leading ER values.
LSG
We also offer a low solar gain (LSG) version of Energlas and Energlas Plus for those looking for year round comfort and placing a high priority on keeping their house cool in the summer. The LSG versions use a pure soft coat LoE on surface #2 (and #4). These options provide the lowest u values and solar heat gain coefficients.
